Notes for Dorothy More
m. (1) Leonard Keate, (2) Christopher Petty of Tettisworth, gent.
A transcript of a Terrier, the original is now lost, of 1577 for the 2nd lord Rich’s estate includes an item about the manor of Tettisworth, Oxfordshire then held by a John Petie.
The Oxford Vis’n of 1669 & 1675, p. 68, has these words:
“CHRISTOPHER PETTY of Tetsworth mar. Dorothy, da. of Sir Richard More, Master in Chancery and wid of ... Keyte and had issue”
This confirms other information - see Leonard Keate’s notes, and enables me to insert her surname.
The Berks vis’n for Keate says she was ‘dau. and heire’.
