| Notes for Katherine Gregory Walker |
In the 1901 census she had her three daus with her as step-daus of Raoul Bedingfield but with these names:
Sybil Lyon Staphean, aged 17, born in London Marie Lyon Staphean, aged 16, born in Lynford, Norfold [sic] Winifred Lyon Staphean, aged 6, born in London
I wonder where these surnames came from?
In the Paston-Bedingfeld article in the 2003 Burke’s peerage, the surname is given as Lyne Stephens and her husband named as Henry Alexander Claremont Lyne Stephens. _______________________________________
On her death index record, her names is given as ‘Katharine G P Bedingfeld’, not ‘Katherine’. |
