| Notes for Robert de Muschamp | ||||||||
| On 14 Jan 2008 in a note titled “William de Vesci and the Muschamps of Wooler, Northumberland”, John Ravilious hinted that Robert’s parents were Thomas Muschamps and Matilda de Vesci and that Matilda was the daughter of William de Vesci who d. 1183 and of Burga de Stuteville. Should be worth following up. Later that day: the Wooler article, referenced by John, in Sanders’ English Baronies gives useful information on Robert de Muschamp’s family and forbears. He also had daus; Cecily and Isabel: 1. Cecily m. Odinel Ford, d. bef 1250 and had dau. Isabel who dsp. 3. Isabel eventually with half the barony, m. Wm de Huntercomb who d. 1271; they had a son Walter, dsp 1313, and dau. Gunnera whose son Nicholas took name of de Huntercomb and held half the barony and d. aft 1335. | ||||||||
