Notes for William Browne
He m. more than once; one of his wives was Elizabeth.

He had, by his various wives, three sons, Wm (who dsp in 1525), Anthony and Leonard (both minors in 1507 but left property in trust) and three daus, Katherine, Margaret and Anne.  CP XI, 484, describes Anne as a co-heir so does this mean that Anthony and Leonard also dsp?
______________________________________________________

Beaven’s Aldermen of London refers to him as the nephew of John Browne, mayor in 1481 and cousin  of William Browne, John’s son and mayor in 1513.

Adrian Channing describes this William as probably the cousin of John the 1481 mayor and explains that the word cousin, found in various wills, was not then a precise term as it is now.

Nothing more is known of this William Browne.
