Notes for Rev John Taddy
There is something very wrong with his death date. Apparently he and Catharine started to have children in 1813, so there is no way he was born in 1812! or, as on his death index record, 67 at death in 1879. Yet 67 is fairly clearly what is on the index. Unless this death was that of a son John???

There was a John Taddy who died in 1858 and this must have been him, with the 1879 death being a previously unknown son.

In the 1841 census his household at Northill was:

Name, Age, Sex, Occupation, Born in county?

Rev John Taddy, 55, M, Clerk, N
Catherina Taddy, 50 F, N
Rev John Taddy, 25, M, Clerk, No
Emily Taddy, 20, F, Y
Louisa Taddy, 19, Yes
Henry Taddy, 15, M, Yes

plus four servants (on a curate’s pay???)

Note the absence of Mary Ann, possibly dead, and Rose, likewise. Catherina caould have been anywhere, similarly for Edward.

As a point of interest, all Taddy deaths on FreeBMD from 1837 to 1830 or so can be accounted for by his family. It is possible that the male Taddy line died out completely, though John Lionel Taddy, b. 1884, had yet to have his death or any marriage found

Similarly all Taddy births apart from a Frederick William in 1863 can be accounted as member of the family. However both the births of John Charles and Emily Taddy in Westbury are completely missing.

Finally all the marriages can be accounted for in the family, though there is a marriage of a Susan at the same time and place as Louisa Rose but this is obviously an erroneous entry from the copies of the indices.
