| He has 1st s. Thomas m. Maud dau. of Henry Ratcliffe earl of Sx, and 2nd s. Walter m. Julian, dau. of Sir Wm. Waldegrave of Bures, Suffolk and 3rd s. Henry and 4th s. Edward. Also see Herts vis’n of 1572-1634, Appx II, p. 153. ____________________________________________________ A Sir Thomas Mildmay of Mowsham, Essex m. Elizabeth dau of Sir John Puckeringe of Warwick, Warwicks and which John d. 30 Apr 1596 (Coll. Top. et Gen., iii, 289). Must be some relation. (TFPL, Sep 2006) The Essex 1612 visitation clarifies this: This Thomas’ wife was Avis Goulston. The Thos Mildmay of the funeral cert was this chap’s grandson. ____________________________________________________ His death is a bit of a mystery. The Essex 1612 visitation says he died in 1529, which is very odd as his brother Walter survived until 1589 However Walter’s DNB article indicates that this Thomas died in 1566, which is what I have changed it to. the 2nd edition, ODNB clarifies this a bit and gives the same date. ____________________________________________________ | ||||||||||||
