| Notes for Sir William Berkeley |
Apparently he plotted against Richard III and forfeited Beverstone which was granted, c. 1484/5, to William Berkeley of Uley. But H. VII restored Beverstone, etc after the battle of Bosworth field. He was esquire to Body of Ed IV, PC and s. & h. of Sir Maurice Berkeley. Sheriff of Hants, Somerset and Dorset.
His heir to his great estates was his uncle Edward. |
