In 1861 he was in Kensington with his mother and siblings, aged 21.

1871 census: he was a widower, vicar of St Nicholas, Warwick and living with his wife, their two sons and his sister.  This was not quite true.  On the enumerator’s sheet he clearly said he was a widow and his wife was not there.  But the transcrjption had not bothered to fill in the ‘Condition column’.  His sister Mary E.F. Powys was with him, presumably trying to help out with a difficult situation:

_____________

1881 census: A lodger in Bryanston St, Marylebone as Clergyman without cure of souls.  I get the feeling that he had had a breakdown and perhaps abandoned his children.

In 1891 he was a widower in Woburn with a visitor and four servants and no sons at home.  He appears not to have had a living then.

In 1911 he was in London with a staff of two, a housekeeper and a valet.

If he died on the 31st, it is remarkable that this was registered on the same day in MaryLeBone.
