There is a report in the Cork Examiner of the 2nd Sept about her death in the isle of Man.
And the Dublin Evening Mail has this:
“FATAL ACCIDENT TO A DAUGHTER OF THE BISHOP OF SODOR AND MAN
“The sorrowful news has reached Warrington of the Death of Miss Gertrude Powys while bathing near her father’s palace, Isle of M<an. It appears that the young lady, while bathing with her elder sister, went beyond her depth, and no aid being near she was drowned. The deceased was about 14 years of age, the youngest daughter but one of the late esteemed rector of Warrington. She will be buried at Warrington on Friday next.—-Warrington Guardian.”
