| Or, CP, "Roland". He is not in the 1st edition of DNB, but is in the 2nd. From the Paradox of Scotland site: ___________________ “Roland (Lachlan) was the eldest son of Uhtred, lord of Galloway (d.1174) and his wife, Gunnilda, daughter of Waltheof of Allerdale. Roland had two brothers, one who died in 1185, and Fergus. He married before 1185 Helen de Morville (d.1217), daughter of Richard de Morville, lord of Lauderdale and Cunningham, constable, and with her had five children, Alan (d.1234), Thomas, earl of Atholl (d.1231), Ada, wife of Walster Bisset of Aboyne, Dervorguilla, wife of Nicholas de Stuteville of Liddel and a fifth child who did not survive adulthood. He founded Glenluce Abbey (WIG) around 1192. When his brother-in-law, William de Morville, died in 1196, his lands and office of constable fell to Roland and his wife. He died in Northampton on 19 December 1200 and was buried in St Andrew's Abbey there.” _________________ | ||||||||||||
