Notes for Eleanor Holland
The reason given for her not being the mother of Elizabeth Tuchet is:
(1) Her, Eleanor’s, dispensation for marriage to James Tuchet was given in 1430
(ii) Elizabeth Tuchet’s marriage contract was dated 1436.
(iii) Elizabeth Tuchet was born c. 1644
But no evidence has been found to back up the last statement.
Though, well over a hyndred years later the 1563 Visitation of Norfolk has Elizabeth as the daughter of Margaret Roos.
The jury is still out.
