Notes for James Stewart
Andrew B W MacEwan in FMG vol 3, no 5 of Jan 2001, suggested that this James had hda three wives:

(1) Cecelia Dunbar, 3rd dau. of Patrick 3rd earl of Dunbar, marr. in late 1260s and had no children who survived to adulthood.

(2) Muriel dau. of Malise, earl of Strathearn; Muriel was widow of William, earl of Mar; married c. 1278. Muriel d. in 1291. No known surviving children.

(3) Giles or Egidia de Burgh, m. in 1296. They had 4 children who survived to adulthood.
