Notes for Sir Thomas V Berkeley Lord Berkeley
Smyth names him Thomas the fifth lord Berkeley and calls him "Thomas the Sheepmaker".
In the Herefords Visitation book there is a record that Francis Rowden of Rowden, Herefords, married a "daughter, and heire to her brothren, of Moris Berkeley (2nd s. of Thomas 9th Ld. Berkeley)". Might this be this Thomas Berkeley? Francis Rowdon's father died in 1518 and his brother Henry in 1543, so the dates are not far out.
