Notes for Sir John Cutler Bart
m. (1) Elizabeth Foote, (2) Elisha Tipping.

He had two daus and coheirs, Elizabeth and Elizabeth but it was unknown who their mother(s) were. But CP says Elizabeth was dau. of Elisha. and that this Eliz d. 13 Jan 1696/7. For ther other dau. GEC says in CB, Portman, p. 90 that she was dau of Eliz Foote, though GEC there referred to Eliz F. as 2nd wife.

“London Visitation pedigrees 1664” (pub Harleian 1940), p. 65 says that he and Elizabeth Foot (1627-1650) had a dau Elizabeth who m. Sir William Portman Bt. This would make the dau. Elizabeth to be born between 1643 and 1650 inclusive.

The “Visitations of London begun in 1687” do not clarify this at all.

However The Hist & Antiqs of Harewood led to the statement that his younger daughter m. the earl of Radnor and this was sustantiated in CP X, 715. However it there refers to Elisha Tipping as his 1st wife which is clearly wrong and contradicts Complete Baronetage.

The correct relationships are:
m. (1) Elizabeth Foote, they had his 1st dau & coheir Elizabeth who was first wife of Sir Wm Portman bt.
m. (2) Elisha Tipping, they had his second dau & coheir Elizabeth who was first wife of 2nd earl of Radnor.
