Notes for Elizabeth Smyth
The visitation book shows that she had three brothers:
(a) The first, Peter, and third, John, and shown without wives or heirs.
(b) The second Frances is shown with no wife but an heir, Peter of Dyffren.
Is there a chance that all three lines died out, making her a heraldic heiress?
There are also visitations from 1634 and 1683; neither has been published separately though it looks like the 1634 information is in this book. So the 1683 visitation might just contain a little more information and resolve what happened to these brothers. Alternatively this family might be in one of the London visitations and Elizabeth’s father worked for the Exchequer, presumably in London.
