| Notes for Christopher Burton-Brown |
Can’t find his birth as ‘Burton-Brown’ on FreeBMD; Brown alone is far too many.
Jan 2009, TFPL: his granddaughter Annabel relates that he was born in Rome in 1902; he was a twin with Theodore who died in 1988. He also had a elder sister Beatrice (1892-1976) who was born in Rawalpindi and was headmistress of Prior’s Field School. There were two other siblings who died in infancy. ________________________________________
Oct 2007, TFPL: Robert Denne, his nephew, told me that Christopher was a housemaster at Bradfield College, Berks for 30 years. So he must be the relative (in-law) that my father spoke of as descending from the Collards and thus set apart by the interdict that had been on relationships with that family after some furious row when APL’s parents, with him and probably also Ursula in tow, went to visit the Collards at Stodmarsh. So, in spite of living in the same village, Bradfield, my father never got in touch. ________________________________________ |
