This could be more on your line of inquiry, some of which you should be able
to verify with the ordered certificate/s, perhaps? -

Not sure of the following marriage - as you can see the birth index in NSW
does not show the mother's maiden name.  In Queensland and most other States
it does, but does give the registration district whereas in Queensland it
does not.

This is the only James GREER married to a Sophia in NSW and about the time
of the first birth in 1850:

Surname:  GREER
Given Name/s:  James
Sex:  Male
Index Year:  1849
Spouse surname:  HENRY

Denomination:  Wesleyan Methodist

Possible birth for Ada L GREER's husband Thomas BUCKLAND...same church,
location for birth of Ada's sister, Alice...But it can be so difficult with
the NSW indexes, so without certificates or other supporting information one
cannot be certain.

I'll send this off now, but the usual caution applies in respect to the
weight value of the information with other supporting evidence.

Jul 2006, TFPL: I’ve now got hold of his death certificate which gives a welcome and extensive amount of information.  It states where he died and what his usual residence was (see elsewhere), his parents names, his wife’s name, that he had no issue, the informant, who was his sister Marion E Buckland of The Mill Cottage, Swinbrook, Oxfordshire, England, the cause of death which was “Cerebro Vascular Accident”, lasting 12 hours, and the date and place of cremation.

This completes the trio of birth, marriage and death certificates.

He died at Hornsby Hospital, Hornsby in New South Wales on the 21st of October 1963

The interesting thing in the above is that Druce’s father Thomas Buckland said he was a clerk and born in Sydney when his and Ada’s marriage was registered.  Wierd!

In the 1911 census, there was no Druce Buckland or variants of that name who was born around 1896.
